At this time of the year it is usual to look back over the years which have passed as well as looking forward to the year ahead. It is now two years since the formation of our new Congregation and as we start 2017 we look back at the things we have achieved with the induction of Rev. David Young and the completion of the new halls, and we look forward to implementing more of our hopes and plans.
In the garden the bulbs are already appearing and the first snowdrops are in flower. A few years ago my uncle died and his garden was a bit overgrown. As we were tidying up in March that year, I dug up some of the snowdrops which were struggling to survive and transplanted them to our garden. They settled in well and are now thriving in their new surroundings. We look forward to their appearance every year and we hope that they will continue to grow and expand in the years ahead.
A New Year also gives us the opportunity to review what we have that is good and discard things which we no longer need, so let us take forward into 2017 everything that will help our Congregation grow in the future.
I have taken some of the words from the Book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 v 1-3 entitled A Time for Everything in the Good News Bible.
“ Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.
He sets the time for planting and pulling up.
The time for tearing down and the time for building up.”
